Daddy Day Care (2003)

Content: Two men get laid off from their jobs and are forced to become stay-at-home dads. With no job possibilities in sight, the two dads decide to open their own day care facility, which they call “Daddy Day Care.” The result is humorous and often inspiring as the two fathers use unconventional, often disastrous methods to care for the children in their facility.

Assignment: Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of this “Daddy Day Care.” Would you want your children to go there? Why or why not? What are some of the stereotypes of househusbands or stay-at-home dads? Does this movie perpetuate those stereotypes? Are there differences between child care from a mother and care from a father?
