1123 COMP II -POETRY ASSIGNMENT

Choose a poem you have liked in the past – one from this book or another source

Can be a religious theme if you so choose – songs in a song book or Psalms in the Bible, or a particular artist’s music – can even be a poem you wrote or one someone wrote for you.

Must be at least 20 lines in length (or close to it)

Should have no sexual innuendos or immoral or illegal aspects

Choose any of the elements of poetry this literature book mentions and apply it or them to your poem.

Explain the literal meaning of the poem, how it applies to life in general, and what it means to you and why it means this.

You can use this as a section of your research paper, but if you do, you must put in at least two parenthetical references and a Works Cited.
