SCHEDULE: Hybrid Online Course
COURSE GOAL: The student will be reviewing the HIM Associate Degree Entry-Level Competencies provided by the American Health Information Management Association to prepare them for the Registered Health Information Technician Exam upon graduation.

- AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician Exam Preparation Textbook and Online Access
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES: AHIMA Quizzes 20%
Northstar Learning 50%
Mock RHIT Exam 30%
In addition to the above breakdown of student grade percentages, it is recommended that the student sit for the Registered Health Information Technician credentialing exam sponsored by AHIMA at the end of the graduating semester. The outcome of the RHIT exam will not prevent a student from passing this course.
Students will be taking weekly assessments reviewing RHIT content and completing other assignments from the textbook. A student may repeat the assessment as many times as they would like to improve their score.
A Mock RHIT Exam will be given after midterm. The student must pass the Mock RHIT Exam to pass the course. The student will have three attempts to pass the exam. After the third unsuccessful attempt, the student will have to repeat the course.
