Course Navigation

Surf City Marathon - Starting Line

We're starting off!

A new semester brings new students, all of whom have new ideas and fresh viewpoints on previously studied readings.  I am always interested to meet new students and hope that I can help each person to develop his or her potential.  This is not an easy course, and you must be very diligent to print out all the materials and the due dates.  It is tremendously important to submit your work on time; this takes discipline.  Also, watch your emails for anything that I may change; sometimes, an email just explains an assignment; at another time, I may delete a portion of the assignment.  The orientation survey must  be submitted on the first Friday evening.

This will help you work through the course and use the supplemental material.

  • Home Page has the welcome on it, then "Navigation" is at the bottom.
  • Click on that and you arrive at this page. At the bottom of this page is the link to the Introduction: the  Distance Learning Policies, Distance Learning Orientation, the Orientation Survey, which must be completed by midnight of the first Friday.
  • The bottom of "Unit 1" will show you how to go to the next module.  As you go along, you will be able to switch back and forth to the different modules.
  • Always check "Announcements" also.
  • "Assignments" has the same information as "Syllabus" does.
  •  You have a personal calendar to keep track in the way that fits you best.  Of course, the class calendar cannot be changed.
  • At the bottom of each page, as you will note here, there will be the next module to click on to access for your next assignment.  The due date of the assignment or unit will be shown on the calendar and on the syllabus.
  • Proctored tests are required for every online course.  Here is a link to a video that will show you step-by-step how to register for them.  You must register at least two days in advance of the day and time you wish to take them.
